123 Framework Canopy in wood gilt

1. Position South end of chamber, partly under Chariot 120.

2. Dimensions Actual canopy Max L. 98.5: Min. L. 8.6 Other meas. see diagrams on next two cards.

3. Description Wood covered with gesso & gilt. Canopy on poles, of very light construction. Must have been intended for carrying about, and setting up hastily as occasion arose. Canopy proper (see diagram). Slots in top straight in centre, angling off gradually to corners. Fastening holes in sides of slots and on top of rim in each case connecting. These slots apparently to take the tongued ends of hinged bars A. Palmetto cornice. Torus moulding of strips of ebony. Below moulding design of spirals. (Cont.)
