entire length. Gesso thickens considerably at junctions with body. Band of applied thicker gold
1.7 wide, starting 31 from junction with body. Design scroll and rope pattern. There had
probably been a second one starting at 40 from end.

Presumed place for hawk shows marked trace of copper. Had traces also of leather binding
marks. This copper marking had nothing to do with hawks, as further marks occurred under
the pole near the middle.

Treatment: Cleaned with warm water & ammonia. Repaired with glue. Waxed.

Decoration
Hub covered with gesso and gold and a distance of 9.5 along spokes from hub.
Bands of thicker applied gold where gold ends on spokes.
