(a) Axle
L. 216. From end to swell 42 at one end, 43 at other.
Construction as in 122, but omitting the four pegs. Axle pins of wood above: below plain
leather. i.e. chariot could not have been used.
Sawn end = No. 71.
Decoration
Exactly similar to 122, with exception that on either side of the inlaid bands there were extra
applied bands of electrum 2 wide. These in addition to the usual applied rope patterns bands.

Central plaque also had no band of inlay below, place being taken by plain gold. Also no eyes
& nefers.
Treatment Cleaned with warm water & ammonia. Repaired with glue. Treated with hot
paraffin wax.

(b) Pole Construction exactly similar to 122.
