620-88
Thin pieces of dark grey (almost black) material. Some of the
pieces are flat and some are very slightly curved. The thickness
of the pieces varies from 1 mm to 6 mm, the thinner edges seem to
be original and the thicker edges where the material has been
broken. The fractured surfaces have a fibrous, crystalline
appearance.
The whole appearance suggests a secondary and not a primary
product and hence an artificial and not a natural material.
A specimen of this was examined by the Chemical Department, Cairo
and was found to consist of oxide of tin.
