Handlist description: Bundle of fan, sticks, bows and arrows

Card/Transcription No.: 596

596 BUNDLE OF FAN, STICKS, BOWS, and ARROWS
(See 599)

POSITION: Cast on top of miscellanea under bed (No. 377) at S. end of chamber (see photos 1149, 1150).

DESCRIPTION: A group comprising a stock of fan, nine staves, ten bows, and eleven arrows which had originally been tied up in a piece of linen - (?) of the nature of a quiver (see No ... in Antechamber). The fan-stock No. 599 most probably belongs to this group. The linen was far too deteriorated to preserve - in fact only much oxidized fragments remained.

These articles may possibly have come from box 370, or from box 50, or belong to sundry groups of similar kind found in the Antechamber.

For description see Fan 596, a Staves 596, b to j. Bows 596, k to t. Arrows 596, u & v. 22 pieces.

(?) original place of these objects. See box 370, and Box 50, whence the weapons and staves may possibly come.
