Sword-stick, the guard of which has been wrenched away.

<> (Scale 1/5) Diam. 2.15 cents. Sheet gold leather and string binding for handle & guard wrenched away. Sheet gold Separate band of gold embossed with ornament. plain dark brown wood Silver ferrule Diam. 2.6 cents. hole pierced through stick Slot in sheet gold exposing inscription incised on ebony slip let into stick - the text is filled in with yellow pigment - it reads: <>

<> (?) attachment The guard, made of thick hide, ribbed and covered with thin sheet gold (see photo 619, A) and strengthened with gold wire. Note 619, A belongs to 582, C.
