561 A RITUALISTIC SICKLE (wood, gold, electrum, glass and
calcite)

POSITION: Poised, where it was thrown, on box No. 550 - (see photos. 1146, 1147).

DIMENSIONS: <> 27.0 22.0 5.8 cents.

DESCRIPTION: A ritualistic sickle of wood, covered with thin sheet electrum & gold, with jewelled binding; coloured glass teeth set in green cement; the teeth of the following colours - (next to handle) red, turquoise-blue, violet-blue, red, violet-blue, and turquoise blue. The tapering end, ends in the form of a snakes head. In embossed gold: - <> on side.

The back or verso of the sickle quite plain electrum.
