547, b. DOUBLE CIRCLET
See 256, NNNN, 620-(123) also 79, e.

The broken parts of a double circlet of unknown use.

It is made up of cylindrical sections of highly polished black resinous material and white crystalline limestone, which are threaded alternate upon a copper (? bronze) core; the resinous sections are inlaid with gold, the crystalline limestone sections with quartz backed with a red pigment, and the complete circlets terminate in a double lotiform clasp of gold, the connecting fastening of which is missing.

Although this curious double circlet is only 11 cents. in diameter (min. measurement), it resembles the Bedouin head-band called "El Agal", and may possibly be some form of head-dress.

For further details see notes attached and Nos. 256, NNNN, 620-(123)
