500. WINE-JAR

POSITION: Lying on a lot of material upon N.E. corner of chamber (see photos. 1142, 1145, 1146, and 1147). DIMENSIONS: Max. H. 61.0; H. of seal 17.0 cents.

DESCRIPTION: Buff pottery wine-jar; two loop handles; clay seal covering mouth and neck with a certain amount of its rush binding in situ - (see photo). Bears four impressions of rectangular seals on side (see type M.) and two similar impressions on the top of the clay seal. No impression of seal upon gas-hole. Bears hieratic docket on shoulder (see photo).

REMARKS: A hole in the jar under one of its handles. (?) Sediment hardened inside.
