The drum is made up of eight separate ivory reeds stained dark-brown with binding & calyces at base covered with gold-foil. Base of column: a disc of ivory held to shaft by means of a gold marguerite topped pin.

Between the slot for the feathers in pelmet are two pieces of springy wood to hold the ostrich feathers in place.

The charming fan stock has unfortunately suffered from rough handling by either the thieves or officials who were supposed to put the tomb to rights.
