370, PP. GROUP OF ARROWS

A group of 3 'footed' arrows of (very slightly) 'chested' pattern, i.e. the 'footed' shaft tapers (very slightly) from the commencement of the 'foot' to 'pile' or point. L. of arrows, 84.0 cents. (of light make) They are made as follows: -

very slightly tapered hard wood 'foot', with tang to fit into reed shaft <> 'pile' the pointed end of foot 'pile' coloured dark thin hide binding 28.0 cents 0.6 diam.

Parallel reed shaft 55.0 cents L.; average diam. 0.6 cents. From feather 17.5 cents long <> bound with narrow strips of hide ornamented with colours

tanged 'nock' of hard wood <> 1.0
