330. BOX (CONTAINING SHAWABTIS) 1

POSITION: - Standing on floor along N. wall, near N.E. corner; lid had been lifted for examining contents by dynastic intruders. (Knobs towards west.)

DIMENSIONS: - L. 70.5; W. 50; Max. H. (including lid) 46, cents.

DESCRIPTION: - Plain wooden rectangular box constructed of framework and panels; whitened inside and out; stands on four square legs; has knob on lid and front end, to which was tied cord and sealed (broken & missing) - the fragments found suggested that it was of 302 type. Docket in hieratic on lid - see copy & photo attached.

CONTENTS: - 15 Shawabti-figures - 330, A-O. 2. Model crozier-sceptres - see 330, P. 75 Model implements - see 330, Q.

The contents (upper layer disturbed) were packed between layers of linen matting with long pile (to be examined with textiles).
