263. REED TORCH UPON SUNDRIED BRICK

POSITION: Between poles of palankeen of Anubis (261), in front of shrine, just inside threshold of room.

DIMENS: Brick L. 8.3, W. 4, H. 1.2, cms. Torch: L.13.2, diam 1.2 cms.

DESCRIP: A reed torch with gilt top, fixed into sundried mud brick and inscribed with five lines of hieroglyphic magical text (see note).

REMARKS: Some grains of charcoal on ground beside it.
