231 (a) & (b) Two straight gilt sticks.

1. Position Between outermost and second shrines. Standing on left (south) side of doors.

2. Dimensions (a) L. 159.7. Diam. 2.7 at top, tapering to .9 at bottom. (b) L. 159.5. Diam. at top 2: at bottom 1.7.

3. Description Straight sticks covered throughout with gesso and overlaid with gold. They were tied together with strips of torn coarse linen circ. 1 wide, at 33 and 101 from bottom, and at top.

4. Treatment Cleaned with warm water and ammonia, and waxed.
