Handlist description: Decorated wooden stool and extra foot

Card/Transcription No.: 149-1

149 (See 142) Decorated wooden stool + extra foot. (See 349)

1. Position Against wall S of entrance, behind chariot wheels 131, 132, 133, 134 & 136. Position of this object is excellent evidence as to plunderers' activities. The stool had been broken and the gold with which it had been covered carefully stripped from it. Then, either by plunderers or by officials, the seat of the stool was placed leaning against the wall behind the chariot wheels, with one of the legs, while the other three legs (no. 142) with three cross bars were on the other side of the chamber, under the lion couch. One cross bar missing - this found(?)

This also supplies evidence that the chariots were out of position, as they must have been placed in their present position after the broken stool seat was placed against the wall.

The extra foot (lion) placed with miscellaneous floor rubbish. (cont.)
