Handle a cylinder of wood, carved to a lion's head and neck, & covered with thin gesso &
gold leaf.
Length of handle 9. Diam., at junction with whisk, 4.7.
Perforated right through head, ending in open mouth with a hole .8 in diam.
Whisk Base a bundle of reeds, covered or bound round with leather. To this leather were
attached small tufts of black horse-hair
