129. Reed Basket

1. Position On floor of chamber, under chariot 122: lying on side up against jars 124 & 125.

2. Dimensions.

Diam. at top 15.5 " " at bottom 13 Height 8. Height of lid 4. Lid sat on ledge 1 cm. down, so height of lid above basket 3.

3. Description Basket built up by successive rings of small bundles of reed slivers circ. 6 wide. These woven together by thin slips of same material. Lid & bottom built outwards from a core in same way. Ridge to take lid a similar bundle, fastened to side at intervals: probably at 5 points.
