3 (2) Cont. In top corners <> <> On either side of Horus names a papyrus headed pole, round which was twined the tail of an uraeus, body and crowned heads above, Upper Egypt left; Lower Egypt right. Below this a narrow panel, with floral design in relief in the gold <>. Remainder of exterior pattern a series of continuous scrolls. Round rim at top a band of blue faience, in which were set at intervals alternate rosettes of silver and the bright red gold. At bottom a band <> of blue & green glass & calcite, order in each row being blue, red, blue, green.

Circular panels on sides exactly similar to those on inside. Floor of chariot covered with a leopard(?) skin mat: below 2 or more thicknesses of cloth, & below an imitation fleece of cloth, with tufts of linen sewn to both sides. Treatment: Cleaned with water & ammonia. Loose inlay stuck in with glue & celluloid cement: waxed.
