Handlist description: Six triangular loin-cloths

Card/Transcription No.: 101g

101 (g) Six triangular loin cloths.

Five of these were folded in pads 11 x 5 x circ. 2. The other one was opened out and was roughly wrapped and wound round the other two. Size 92 wide x circ. 85 deep.

This open one was in very good condition: the other two were in very bad condition. Why ? Is it a question of the cloth being made of different samples of linen, some of which held seeds of decay while others didn't. Not due to bacteriological action apparently, as of two rolls lying side by side and actually touching, one was in good condition, and the other like tinder.

Sprayed with cellulose acetate in acetone
