Dear Gardiner,

The following will, I believe, be of interest to you in your philological studies, and, too, of which I should like to hear your comments. When examining the boxes containing food offerings - the contents comprising geese, ducks, pigeons, squabs, and dressed parts of two oxen - I found that portions of the beef were specially labelled as per list enclosed. Some of the boxes contained lumps of flesh and 'joints' of the 11th to 18th ribs, but these unfortunately were not docketed, neither were the ducks, pigeons, and squabs.

My work here is at least drawing near the finish. In another fortnight. I should be a
