54. Box of ebony and red painted wood.

1. Position Opposite door, running N-S. Whether original position? Knob end N.

2. Dimensions L. 55.5 cm. : W.39 cm.; H. 39 cm. overall. Width of frame 3 cm. Thickness of wood 1 cm. Diameter of knob on box 5, on lid 5.5. Depth of feet below box proper 10 cm.

3. Description Ebony frame with painted red panels. Strip of ebony veneer down centre of lid 2.5-3 cm. Ebony knob on end and lid with a cartouche on each of Kheperu-neb-re. These knobs projected through into box and were pierced by round pegs, and made firm by an additional piece pushed in behind. (See phot.). Hieratic inscription on lid in black (see special card.
