370, FF. STAVE OF BOW (in bad condition)

A compound bow; made of four strips of wood glued together; the
'belly' composed of a gelatinous substance; the whole covered
with bark (of ? cherry-like kind)

One of the '1imbs' broken near horn.
Estimated L. 124 cents. from horn to horn. The 'string' at centre
17 cents from 'belly' of bow, but probably the bow has lost its
shape due to warping, etc.
The upper and lower limbs bound with a band of thin gold some 25
cents from the centre.
String missing (see note on fragments of string from these bows).
