339 LARGE AMPHORA OVIFORM (CALCITE)

POSITION: Lying on side on heap of objects & stones from blocking of doorway, immediately below threshold of doorway. (See photo 1135.) DIMENSIONS: Max. H. 67.0; Max. diam. 35.0, cents.

DESCRIPTION: A large oviform amphora of unveined calcite, having cylindrical neck, two small thick loop handles, and no decoration or inscription whatsoever. The rim of lip shows distinct traces of once having had a lid luted to it. The contents robbed - (see note attached).

REMARKS: Lid found in Antechamber No. 96 a.
