DESCRIPTION: -
OUTER COFFIN - a miniature coffin of anthropoid form (similar
in type to that of private burials); tied round with strips of
linen at neck, waist, and ankles, and sealed. (For types of
seals employed see Nos. 302 and 282)
The coffin of wood; gesso-gilt; field filled in with black
resin.
Head dress of striated (blue & gold) private burial type;
usekh-collar, with hawk-head shoulder pieces; hands free (no
emblems); vulture over abdomen; three longitudinal bands, and
four transverse bands, of formulae (see copy attached). The
figure of Nephthys on top of head; the figure of Isis, and two
deds, under feet.
No insignia on forehead.
