A model thrusting hand mill for grinding corn into a coarse meal. It comprises a 'saddle'-stone and 'muller' of quartzite. The saddle-stone is let into a wood seat or trough, which is covered with gesso; the saddle-stone has a more or less concave face, left bare, on which the grain was placed, and by the use of the muller - an oval bun-shaped stone with flat base - the grain was rubbed and ground into a meal.
