POSITION:
Within first (outermost) coffin, in Sarcophagus.
DIMENSIONS:
L. 204.0; Max. W. 68.0. cents. Max. H. 78.5 (at feet).
DESCRIPTION:
Heavy wooden coffin,completely covered with gold foil and inlaid
with coloured opaque glass and faience from head to foot.
Anthropoid in form symbolizing Osiris - the portrait of the King.
Headdress: Nemes, striated with lapis blue glass (much
discoloured and decayed).
Insiginia: Nekhbet right, Buto left;
Nekhbet, beak of dark black wood (?)ebony, eyes of obsidian.
Buto. Head blue faience, rest of wood, covered with gold and
inlaid with red, blue and turquoise blue glass.
Face and Ears: - gold, eyes obsidian and arragonite, eye lids and
brows of lapis blue glass.
Beard Lapis blue glass - gold.
