79 Rounded Box of ebony and red wood veneer.
(See No. 574).

1. Position Resting on near edge of Couch 73; rounded side outwards.

2. Dimensions See drawings on next card.

3. Description Frame made of some light wood, .2 thick. This only showed on inside of box, where it was covered with a light gesso wash, and painted yellow. On flattened side boards ran horizontally, & on rounded part vertically. Boards about 10 wide. At top of flattened sides curves inwards to a thickness of 1.2 at rim. This to accommodate lid. Outside of box entirely covered with veneer of ebony and red wood, .1 thick. This stuck on with black resinous material. Panels also fastened with tiny wooden pegs at corners. Flattened side (see diagram). Rounded part " " similar, but with central panel. In top red panel, starting on each side at 7.5 and 19 from corner, two bronze lifting rings, bent upwards.
