60. Alabaster ornamental unguent vase upon ornamental stand

Description.
An elongated vase flanked with open-work floral ornament cut out of one block of alabaster
(calcite). Upon neck of vase head of Hat-hor in relief with collarettes and garland of lotus
flowers, incised & filled in with black pigment. Around shoulder of bowl of vase collar of
floral petals incised & filled in with black pigment. On bowl two beasts pertaining to the
goddess Hat-hor above, below which a rectangle surmounted by <>, and containing the
protocol of the King: <> On base of vase calyx pattern incised & filled in with black
pigment.
The flank ornamentation comprising lotus and papyrus flowers with central knot signifying the
tying of the two lands (i.e., Up. and Low. Eg), with rnpt-hfn margins symbolizing "thousands
of years", or eternity.
The ornamental stand of tall ring-stand type, is cut out of one block of alabaster & is flanked
like the vase but with ankh and was design.
