Asiatic Head and hands of ivory. Hair & beard painted black. No moustache. Eye details in black & white. Body completely covered by a flowing robe: feet not showing.

African This figure was made from a separate piece of wood (ebony) and applied. Full wig covering ears: Eyes in black and white. Binding round neck with three flap pendants in gold. Upper part of body bare. Kilt to knees of gold. One foot flat on top of stick, other projecting slightly from bottom of stick. Width of combined figures at middle 5.5 x 3 thick: at shoulders 5 x 3.

Cleaned with damp brush Sprayed with celluloid in amyl acetate Treated with melted wax
