26 Basket lid of reed.

1.Position

N. end of chamber, in front of sealed door.

2.Dimensions

Diam. 49 cm:

H. circ. 6: bent out of shape.

3.Description.

Made up of bundles of reed slivers .8 in diam, wound in a spiral. Bound by wide strips of reed, each weaving alternately over and under a bundle.

Centre space 4.8 in diam. filled in with strips of reed radiating out from centre, where they catch onto a ring of cord(?), and fastening to inner spiral. In innermost hole a cord with knot at top.

Underneath, an extra ring, 10. in diam., applied.

This made of a similar bundle of reed slivers, 1. wide.

N.B. This the lid of Basket 119.
