587. WOODEN BOX
POSITION:
Among a mass of miscellanea S.W. corner of Chamber - (see photos
1149, 1150).
DIMENSIONS:
L. 53.0; W. 36.7; H. 33.4 (not including lid which is missing)
cents. (capacity 50 x 34 x 23 cents.).
DESCRIPTION:
A somewhat roughly made wooden box; dark grain wood; four side
panels painted yellow on the exterior; frame-work left dark
natural colour; top and bottom horizontal rails veneered; the
vertical corner pieces of the frame-work elongated so as to form
the four legs upon which it stands; considerable amount of
stopping used to make good faults; upright corner-pieces fixed in
interior for (?) the lid.
Wooden knob on front-end, to which string still adheres.
Lid missing.
