442, B. FOOTSTOOL

A small footstool, of red-brown wood (? cedar) and ebony. Dimensions: - 33.7 x 18.1 x 4.4, cents. The top edges of the four sides are bordered with a veneer of three thin strips of ebony & red-brown wood mitred at the corners. The two panels on the top comprise four strips of ebony and three of red-brown wood, which are bordered with four thin strips (2 of ebony & 2 of red-brown-wood) veneered and mitred at the corners. The rails, stiles, and side of red-brown (?) cedar wood. Two cross vertical battens underneath strengthen and hold the construction together.
