408 TWO HANDLED VASE (CALCITE)

POSITION: Resting on a basket (440) in centre of chamber - (see photos. 1138, 1139, 1140, 1141).

DIMENSIONS: Max. H. 29.5; Max. width 29.0; Max. diam. of lip 22.5, cents.

DESCRIPTION: A squat globular two-handled vase wrought of calcite. Bowl globular; slight circular foot; short cylindrical neck; thick wide lip. No ornamentation.

REMARKS: Traces of a lid having been luted to lip. Traces of binding around neck for holding lid in place. Lip and neck broken and mended anciently. Sides stained. Contents robbed - slight residue on bottom.
