403, A   HEAD-REST

DIMENSIONS: Max. L. 28.1; Max. W. 8.7; Max. H. 18.5; cents.

DESCRIPTION: A head-rest made of turquoise-blue glass; a great deal of the surface of which is disintegrated and discoloured by moisture and fungus. The central column octagonal; has following inscription engraved on front facet: <>; and <> on the facet at the back. gold band gold band

The head-rest is made of two pieces of glass, joined at the centre of the column by means of a square wooden dowel. The joint is covered by a collar of thin sheet gold 11 m/m wide and engraved with <> repeated the whole way round
