DESCRIPTION:
Representing a kind of light craft of primitive form, of the type developed from the raft or
perhaps reed float, bottom round, under bow and stern flattened, capable of navigating
shallow water with minimum draught and maximum load; reminding one of the Venetian
gondola in shape.
Made out of several logs of wood pieced together and shaped and planed with an adze.
Bow and stern turned up: the two ends rising in a curved line; the stem curved upwards
ending in an upright lotus shaped ornament, the stern bent back and ending in an upright
lotus shaped ornament.
The planking (carvel-built) joined together fore and aft to the stem and stern pieces.
