283 A SQUARE WOODEN CHEST

POSITION: Stood against south wall upon top of 288, knobs facing north. DIMENSIONS: 62.0 x 51.0 x 67.5 cms high (including lid)

DESCRIPTION: A rectangular plain wooden box with flat lid and four short legs. The wood work of the panels are quite plain, but the rails and styles of the sides and lid are partially smeared with black resin.

On lid a short docket (see note attached)

The cord and two seals fixed to the knobs had been broken & left lying on the top of box 288. For seals (see photo attached) the device comprises 'a captive between cheetah and crocodile'
