276 Boat. Lucas' Notes.

Painted & Gilt Colours: - White, Blue, Green, Canary Yellow, Brownish Yellow, Red & Black No varnish Parts gilt. Gold discoloured and now reddish purple (will not clean) Disfigured by fungus growths (now dead and dry) and insects marks (dead beetles present) Fungus on brownish-yellow & white. Treatment Brushed with dry brush Cleaned paint with benzine and soft brush & gilt with ammonia Consolidated string of steering paddles with Duroprene Consolidated paint with celluloid solution

Canary Yellow Pigment Analyzed specimen. Is natural sulphate of arsenic i.e. orpiment.
