271, H. FINGER-RING
Diam. interior of loop: 1.8, exterior of loop 2.6, cms.
A pale blue faience finger ring mounted in a light framework of gold in the form of lotus
flowers which terminate in a funda around the upper edge of the bezel of the ring. Fixed on
to the bezel is (1) a small squatting figure of the king in gold between (2) Rec-Herakhty
(right side) and (3) cAah (Thoth) in the form of a cynocephalus ape (left side).
This composite finger-ring is of interest as illustrating the use and intention of the numerous
plain faience finger-rings, without device upon their bezels, discovered in divers sites
through out Egypt.
