Contents.
The bottom vase contained a very light brown-coloured material
in the form of (a) very small tear-shaped particles, (b) thin
rods of uniform diameter and (c) powder.
Nature of material.
The material consists of an intimate mixture of resin
(probably gum-resin), common salt, sulphate of soda and a very
small proportion of carbonate of soda (natron). It may be
either a mixture of resin and salt (the latter contaminated
with sulphate of soda and carbonate of soda) or it may be
resin mixed with what was intended to be natron but which
consisted essentially of salt and sulphate of soda with only a
