256, iii bis dt-serpent amulet
POSITION:
Neck; centre; attached by linen thread; third group (i.e.,
iii, iii bis and jjj).
DIMENSIONS:
Max. H. 11.5 cents.
DESCRIPTION:
dt-serpent amulet, of thin sheet gold embossed and chased. Has
an eyelet fastening centre of body (on back); was threaded
upon linen string between amulets iii and jjj, forming a
(third) group of amulets attached to the neck of the King
within the wrappings (see diagram with iii).
REMARKS:
cf. Lacau, Sarcophages, pl. XXXIV, 93, coffin No. 28090 (34);
represented yellow and named <> "dt at his head".
