REMARKS
The top edge of the foot end of lid of coffin had been chipped
away by means of a sharp adze-like instrument, it being too high
to allow the lid of the sarcophagus to be placed on the
sarcophagus. The chips were found on the bottom of the
sarcophagus. A black anointment had been poured over the feet.
The whole coffin was covered with linen sheets. (See 252).
The lid of the coffin was fastened to the coffin by means of ten
solid silver tenons (four on each side, one at head and one at
foot-end). These tongues were held in position in the coffin by
means of ten gold headed silver pins.
These silver tongues are inscribed with the prenomen and nomen of
the King "beloved of" various tutelary gods and goddeses.
