Handlist description: Decorated gold stick

M. Plain gold tubing. Starting at 1 from top of band an incised inscription 42.5 long. (See Note by A.H.G.). N. Silver ferrule on which were incised figures of captives.

Each of the bands described above were applied to the stick separately.

Lower part of the stick, for a distance of about 42 up, had a bandage (circ. 1.8 wide) wound loosely and carelessly round. Query this was originally wound tightly round whole stick, later springing & sliding down stick.

4. Treatment Cleaned with warm water & ammonia.
