Applied neck-piece of coarse cloth.
Inside diam. as nearly as it could be measured 40. This corresponds closely with diam. of
neck-piece of robe painted on the wooden mannequin.
To either edge of this was sewn a string of very thin disc beads of blue(?) faience, diam. .5.
In the centre of the band a series of gold sequins, with two threading holes: diam. 1.1: distance
apart varying from 3.5-5: apparently 11 to the circuit.
Some of these had tarnished a plum (not scarlet) colour.
The V below this was also lined with the same beads. It extended down at least 12.
The fine cloth of the shirt proper came right to the top edge of this band, & stitching
underneath showed that the whole band had
