General Haremhab (the name means "The God Horus is in Festival") was the most important military commander during the reign of king Tutankhamun.
His tomb was built at Saqqara, a large cemetery to the west of the city of Mennufer.
When, as an old man, Haremhab himself became king in 1323 BC, a new tomb was made for him in the royal cemetery in the Valley of the Kings, in the south of Egypt. He was buried there in 1295 BC.
