Name of creator Wild, James William (1814-1892).
Administrative and biographical history
British architect. Born, Lincoln 1814. Died, London 1892. Assisted Lepsius's work in Egypt from
1842 onwards. Studied Arabic architecture in Cairo. When he returned to Britain he was appointed
decorative architect to the Great Exhibition, 1851. Curator, Sir John Soane's Museum, London, 1878-92.
