Title of post: Assistant to the Editor of the Topographical Bibliography and Keeper of the Archive
Salary scale: Clerical & Library Grade C4, salary £13,938 - £16,134 p.a. Length of contract: funding secured for 12 years
Applications are invited for the post of Assistant to the Editor of the Topographical Bibliography of Egyptian Hieroglyphic Texts and Keeper of the Archive in the Griffith Institute, Sackler Library, Oxford. The postholder will assist in the analysis of new publications on ancient Egypt and incorporating the results into existing records, and help in the editorial work. Another major aspect of the work will be assisting in the cataloguing of the material kept in the Archive and various duties connected with its use by visiting scholars.
The successful applicant will possess good computing knowledge and organisational skills, and will be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Working knowledge of French and German and some experience of work in a Library or Archive environment are desirable, and a qualification or knowledge in Egyptology will be useful.
